454: Ethereal Production With AN Introspective Pen

The Florida-born, NYC-based rapper is pushing the boundaries of what we consider rap with high-tempo instrumentals and hypnotizing flows paired with surprisingly introspective lyrics. Parallels can be drawn between Houston legend, DJ Screw’s “chopped and screwed” psychedelic sound, and 454’s relaxingly-airy melodies.

Co-signed by Frank Ocean, 454 is quickly gaining steam within the underground music community. Following the success of his latest project 4 REAL, 454 has recently dropped bnyx produced “THANKFUL” and self-produced “SKITTLES” which have continued to do numbers and proved that he’s here to stay.

As live shows began to resume trailing the height of the pandemic, 454 joined Aminé on his US tour. Although I wasn’t able to make it to his last show, I heard great things about his set and his stage presence. I’m eagerly waiting on his next show and you should too!

With minimal material to consume on streaming services, fans of 454 are itching for his next release. Keep your eye out for another 454 project; as he continues to tease us with more unreleased snippets on Instagram.
